I was really impressed with this young lady. I stumbled upon this site today as I was researching film schools in Arizona. I have a boyfriend in an AZ prison who's serving a life sentence and I can certainly relate to a lot of the stories here. I also have a pen pal in Tucson I write to regularly who has family where I live now. Society looks at family members or friends of loved ones in prison as being guilty by association. For myself, I'm an educated, hard-working Southern woman who's never even had a speeding ticket, so that really makes me angry. I am moving to Arizona later this year(live in IN now) and want to start a non-profit and raise money to fight those contracts the prisons have with telephone providers. Right now I'm paying $17.30 for a 15 minute call! The fact that the prisons are profiting off of this makes me physically ill.
